Tel Aviv, Israel – In a dramatic escalation of ongoing hostilities, Israel launched a missile strike Monday targeting Iran’s state-run television station during a live broadcast. The attack, which occurred after Iran fired a fresh round of missiles that reportedly killed at least eight individuals in Israel, forced a visibly shaken Iranian reporter to flee mid-broadcast.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the strikes had significantly set back Iran’s nuclear development, saying the program had been “pushed back by many years.” While he clarified that Although Israel claims it isn’t seeking to topple the Iranian regime, officials acknowledged that the intensity of the strikes could potentially lead to such an outcome.
“The regime is extremely fragile,” Netanyahu told reporters. He also confirmed ongoing communications with U.S. President Donald Trump, who posted a grave message late Monday urging the immediate evacuation of Tehran.
In anticipation of its airstrikes, Israel had advised hundreds of thousands of residents in central Tehran to leave the area, warning that the state-run broadcaster was being used for military purposes. The evacuation alert targeted critical areas in Tehran, encompassing the state-run television center, several prominent hospitals, and key police stations—all located in a heavily populated part of the city.
The announcement came on the fourth day of the conflict, with Israel’s military claiming it had achieved full air control over Tehran, enabling it to operate without facing significant aerial resistance.
While attending the G7 summit in Canada, President Trump reiterated his longstanding stance against a nuclear-armed Iran. In a social media statement, he wrote in capital letters, “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” stressing that Iran should have agreed to a deal to avoid such destruction. He called the situation “a tragedy and a waste of human life,” referencing the deadly strikes from the previous week.
Trump concluded his post by calling for “immediate evacuation of Tehran.” Soon after, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the President would cut short his G7 attendance and return to Washington early due to the rising tensions between Iran and Israel.

Israel Issues Mass Evacuation Warning in Tehran
Earlier Monday, Israel’s military released an urgent evacuation directive affecting up to 330,000 people in central Tehran. The targeted zone includes Iran’s state TV station, national police headquarters, and three major hospitals — one reportedly linked to Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard.
Following the strike, Iranian state media confirmed that live programming was abruptly interrupted as the television station was hit.
